Using Positive Thoughts To Shape Your 2019
Starting the year off right means getting your head in the game and making the most of everything you have. Using positive thoughts, you can craft the right kind of mindset to help you move through 2019 with strength and conviction. We cannot be happy all the time, and if we were, we would never appreciate it. but we can make the most of the moments when we are happy and try and capitalise on that feeling. In order to do so, we need to really make the most of feelings of joy, happiness, excitement, inspiration and life’s simple pleasures.
Turning Negatives Into Positives
Take a moment to think about what it is in your life that makes you happy and write down a list of these things. Perhaps it’s your family that brings you joy? Spending time with them? Getting outdoors? It might even be your job that brings you immense satisfaction. Take time to really think long and hard about these things and write each one down and the reason it makes you feel happy.
Now take a moment to think about what it is that prevents you from experiencing these things that make you so happy. For example: maybe you love hiking in the great outdoors, but you don’t get enough time to be outside because you work all day during the week and weekends you are doing chores.
Now think about how you can take those blocks that are preventing you from experiencing these moments of happiness, and see how you can transform them into a more enjoyable version of themselves. For example:
- Going for a walk on your lunch break at work so that you can get outside and feel as if you’ve at least spent some time in the sunshine
- Having a weekly family game night where the family gets together to play board games together, without compromise. That way you feel like you are not wasting precious moments with the people you love
- Planning a monthly girls lunch (or guys lunch) to make sure you touch base with your friends, even with your hectic schedules
- Doing a massage swap with your partner once a week so that you both receive the benefit of a treatment, as well as each other’s attention
We might not always live under our most ideal conditions, but we can make the most of what we have by slightly altering our mindsets. Take note of what you can change that will add a little happiness to your life and see the positivity start to take flight.
